We kick off season 3 with Anna, as she chronicles her experience of God answering a simple prayer, “Are you really real?”  Exhausted by living in a constant fight for perfectionism, God broke Anna’s paradigm for religion wide open.  Anna began to experience God’s voice in her life so powerfully, it became undeniable that He was calling her into a deeper relationship with Him.  With each stop closer to understanding the heart of God, Anna’s recognition of God’s voice shifted drastically. Maybe His voice isn’t hard to identify, rather, hard to miss? Tune in to hear how the simplicity of a willing heart changed everything.

This week, our friend Caitlyn is BACK!  When she first joined us in episode 10, she was preparing to head to Mongolia for a month of travel and ministry.  Now she’s back with many stories of how she watched God work powerfully through friendships.  During her time there, God showed her the beauty and simplicity of the gospel.  There’s nothing complicated about the pure love of God or the way we get to partner with Him in community to show that love to others.

This week, we’re joined by Julia, who shares the ups and downs of learning to follow the voice of God.  She first began to understand the varying ways God speaks when she was in high school.  As she sat down to pray in the middle of the woods, God used a literal gust of wind to open her Bible and speak directly to her circumstance.  From there, God used everything from dreams to words of encouragement from strangers, to show her that His plan is better than anything she could make up for herself.  Julia details the story of how she met her husband on a trip to Israel and the interesting ways God confirmed their relationship.  From start to finish, Julia’s story highlights how creative God is in communicating through both scripture and His world.

From working as an informant during the war in Iraq to finding her way to the US, Ann developed a strong, resilient spirit early on. However, it was once she married and realized the stranger she committed herself to was a dangerous man, that the fight for her life truly began. She describes the abuse she endured and how she relied on God and the church around her to help her find a way to safety. Now, Ann is healed and whole as she works to advocate for women who find themselves in abusive situations.

In this episode, Janet weaves the story of her journey in embracing vulnerability. As a girl, she learned to build walls in relationships, perfecting the survival skill of stoicism in the midst of family instability. Carrying her “strong” self-reliance into adulthood, her ability to be truly known in relationships was limited. In a surprising turn of events, Janet and her husband met a pastor whose approach to Christianity broke the norm.  As a result, Janet began witnessing God as a loving Father who was patiently helping her tear down the fortress that had protected her heart for so long.  She experienced the abundant goodness of God at work as she began to follow God’s way for relationships and see many of her friends come to faith in the process!

We kick off Season 2 with a fascinating interview with Caitlyn, who is currently serving in “On Eagles Wings”, a ministry which specifically  reaches out to Native American youth across the US.  While growing up on the Navajo Nation reservation in New Mexico, Caitlyn became all too familiar with the many layers of brokenness that Navajo families face.  She shares the beautiful way in which she met Jesus, who healed her and her family, giving her an overflowing hope that there is life for Natives beyond generational cycles of trauma and brokenness.

In Episode 9, we sit down with Colleen, Kelli’s sister, who was a large part of Kelli’s story in Episode 2.  Kelli shared the story of helping Colleen survive a hiking accident in the Teton Mountains, and now we get to hear Colleen’s side of the story.  Colleen gives us a glimpse into her experience of how God not only saved her life but used this event to guide her into a career that she loves.  Her story is such a beautiful picture of how God heals and redeems everything!
